Officials with the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) and Caesars Entertainment, operators of the Horseshoe Baltimore Casino, are offering job workshops with a special incentive for those in attendance.
Today the federal government announced March jobs numbers for states and localities. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said that Maryland added 2,3oo jobs in March, and that February’s reported loss of 600 jobs was revised to a 1,000 job gain. Both months helped to make up for the 6,100 jobs lost in January.
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said Wednesday city officials used “every incentive” available to them to “secure the deal” that is bringing an Amazon distribution center to the site of the old General Motors plant in Southeast Baltimore.
