Glen Burnie Murder-Suicide Investigated As Domestic Violence

Null Value

The investigation continues into a murder-suicide involving a Baltimore City police officer, firefighter and his girlfriend yesterday in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County Police say officer Christopher Robinson shot and killed Baltimore firefighter Andrew Scott Hoffman and his girlfriend Marie Hartman before turning the gun on himself. Hoffman was in the news earlier this year for helping a lost three-year-old boy return home. WJZ posted a statement from Hoffman’s family.

According to numerous reports, Robinson and Hartman had previously dated. The Baltimore Sun reports that this is the second instance this year in which a Baltimore City police officer has taken his own life after allegedly committing an act of domestic violence. Hartman was the mother of a six-year-old boy. Sunday’s incident is being investigated as a domestic episode, according to the Capital Gazette.

Earlier this month, Midday with Dan Rodricks talked about domestic violence and police officers. Download the podcast of that show here.
