The teachers at Battle Monument School for special needs students in Dundalk have given their charges a special send-off on the last day of school for the last 20 years. And this year was no exception. Monday afternoon, they gathered outside the school as the students were wheeled onto their buses, smiling and waving. And when the last child was securely aboard, the buses took off, blasting horns and circling the school’s entrance drive several times as teachers cheered and waved farewell for the summer. Principal Jerry easterly says the send-off could put a tear in your eye.
